Atlanta Mayor Franklin and members of the delegation held meetings with several political figures in Beijing including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Commerce as well as a working luncheon with the Beijing Olympic Committee sponsored by UPS. Several members of the delegation met with potential prospects while in Beijing.

The Atlanta delegation was hosted by the Mayor of Wuhan during our visit there, which included a welcome reception and dinner attended by key business and political leaders in Wuhan. Atlanta Mayor Franklin and Wuhan Mayor Li signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a friendly and cooperative relationship during the reception.

Networking opportunities were provided for the delegation by Jones Day Law Firm, American Chamber of Commerce, Portman Holdings and General Protecht during their visit in Shanghai, opening doors to present Atlanta as a viable option for those looking to invest in the U.S. Several members of the delegation met with potential prospects while in Shanghai.

Upon arrival in Hong Kong, several members of the delegation met with potential prospects, while others attended a luncheon hosted by ING and key business leaders in Hong Kong. Atlanta Mayor Franklin met with the Financial Secretary of Hong Kong, the second top official in Hong Kong, while the delegation met with the Bank of Asia to discuss investment opportunities in China as well as he benefits and advantages of the metro Atlanta area for China. The trip culminated in a reception hosted by Troutman Sanders, bringing the delegation together with top business and political leaders in Hong Kong.
