Czech Republic
On the occasion of Delta Air Lines’ inaugural flight between Atlanta and Prague on 02-May-2007, Global Commerce and the Consulate of the Czech Republic in Atlanta led a small trade delegation to the Czech Republic. The delegation consisted of the Honorary Consul General of the Czech Republic in Atlanta along with representatives of the metro Atlanta economic development and business communities. While in the Czech Republic, the delegation visited three cities:
Prague
In Prague, the delegation met with several government agencies to get a better feel for the business climate and investment opportunities in the Czech Republic. Visits included: Czech Trade, Czech Invest, Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, the American Chamber in Prague and the U.S. Embassy. The delegation also attended a welcome reception at the residence of the Honorable Richard Graber, Ambassador of the U.S. to the Czech Republic. The delegation also traveled to the city of Brno in the southeast of the Czech Republic. Brno is located in the region of South Moravia, near the Czech border with Slovakia and Hungary. During the visit to Brno, the delegation visited with the Mayor of Brno as well as the South Moravia Regional Economic Development Agency and the Brno International Trade Show Authority. The visit to Brno was fruitful, garnering a return invitation by the S. Moravia Regional Authority. The delegation included a side visit to the city of Plzen during the trade mission. While in Plzen, the delegates met with the Mayor of Plzen and representatives from the Plzen Urban Development Authority as well as executives from Pilsner Urquell Brewery.
