KoreaGlobal Commerce continued its Asia Mission 2007 with several stops in Korea. While in Korea, Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce met with various government officials and business leaders in the cities of Seoul and Daegu. Seoul
The delegation once again split up during the day in Seoul to maximize their time in the capital city. Mayor Franklin met with the Mayor of Seoul as well as a several Korean companies with operations in Atlanta to thank them for their continued support of the metro Atlanta region. Meanwhile, the business delegation conducted a business seminar for approximately 70 Seoul businessmen to raise awareness for the metro Atlanta area. Others in the delegation visited with potential prospects. The delegation traveled to the city of Daegu. Mayor Franklin and the delegates were on hand to witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Yeungjin College of Engineering and the Korean Southeast U.S. Chamber of Commerce to provide Yeungjin students with internships at U.S. corporations. During the evening, the mayor of Daegu hosted the delegation to a formal dinner, celebrating the 25-year sister city relationship between Daegu and Atlanta.
